Bring the Kids to Downtown Caldwell!
We are about half-way through summer vacation! Are you running out of ideas for things to do with your children yet? Downtown Caldwell is calling you! There are many opportunities for affordable, family-friendly fun here.
Walk Along the Creek
Indian Creek Park runs about five blocks through downtown Caldwell. This paved pathway is perfect for getting out of the house and taking a walk. It is paved, so it is perfect for pushing a stroller or bringing a tricycle for your little one to ride.
While you are walking, keep your eyes open, the creek is full of surprises! You might see ducks or other creatures. People also hide painted rocks along the creek. How many can you find?
Stop at the musical art park and see if you can figure out how to play ‘row row row your boat’ on one of the instruments. While you’re downtown, make sure to stop at some of our new businesses for a treat, a meal, or a gift!
Get Wet
Indian Creek Plaza has splash pads and fountains that are on from 9am to 9pm, except when there is an event.
The Train Depot on Main Street also has a splash pad that is on every day!
Watch a Movie
Have you been to the Reel Luxe Theatre downtown yet? If not, summer is the perfect opportunity to escape the heat and take the kids for an afternoon they will not forget! All the seats in the theatre either rock or recline and you can reserve the ones you want to sit in online. Don’t forget the popcorn!
Indian Creek Plaza also shows free movies at the Plaza on Thursday nights! This year’s theme is #ThrowbackThursday and all the movies shown are some of our childhood favorites or were inspired by toys from our childhood. Activities at the Plaza start at 7PM and the movies begin a dusk, when it is dark enough to see the movie. August 1 – Raiders of the Lost Ark. August 8 – Hook. August 15 – Top Gun. August 22 – Grease.
