Destination Caldwell Hires CEO

The Destination Caldwell Board of Directors is pleased to announce the hiring of Keri Smith-Sigman as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Organization.

Ms.  Smith-Sigman co-founded  Destination  Caldwell  in  2013  as  a  non-profit  organization  dedicated  to  promoting  Caldwell  as  a  destination,  improving  business conditions,  and  organizing  and  motivating  an  association  of  persons  with  the  common  interest  of  making  Caldwell,  Idaho,  a  better  place  to  live,  work,  and  play.

“We are very excited to welcome Keri Smith-Sigman to this new role and know she will lead Destination Caldwell to deliver on our brand promise and create Idaho’s premier gathering place with Indian Creek Plaza,” said Kelli Jenkins, President of Destination Caldwell.  ”With the opening of Indian Creek Plaza and revitalization efforts underway, awesome things are happening in our community.  We are confident that with Ms. Smith-Sigman’s leadership, Destination Caldwell will continue our community-wide effort to showcase Caldwell as the place to raise a family, start or grow a business, promote the famed Sunnyslope Wine Trail and reclaim historic downtown,” said Kelli Jenkins.

Smith-Sigman previously served the City of Caldwell as an Economic Development Specialist to promote retail development and to coordinate downtown revitalization efforts.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree from Lewis-Clark State College in 2010 with an emphasis in Marketing and Leadership and received her certificate in Economic Development from the University of Oklahoma in 2017.

“I am thrilled to be part of the Destination Caldwell team and I’m proud of the efforts that we have already made in transforming downtown Caldwell. This new position will allow me to work closely with the City of Caldwell’s Economic Development team, help with business recruitment and forge relationships with our downtown business owners to create a healthy downtown boasting a variety of shops, restaurants and professional services to produce an active, vibrant downtown while continuing to brand Indian Creek Plaza as Idaho’s gathering place,” said Keri Smith-Sigman.

Mayor Garret Nancolas expressed what a great job Smith-Sigman has done for the City and stated, “We certainly look forward to working with her in this new position and wish her success! She will continue to actively be involved in downtown business development and recruitment, so she won’t be too far away.”  Some of the projects that Smith-Sigman has played a key role in include  the Indian  Creek  Plaza,  the  Luxe  Reel  Theatre,  and  a  new boutique  hotel  and  mixed  use  development  in  the  heart  of  historic  downtown  (coming  in  2020).
